I love this time of year! This is the time to really get outside and enjoy the wonderful weather, the fair, and Halloween. I remember going trick or treating with my mother, and she would give us the instruction on how to get candy. We were to go up to a house that had a porch light on, knock on the door, and yell, "Trick or Treat." When the night was over and we returned home my parents would do a "scan through" of all the candy that we received to make sure there were not anyting tampered with. You can never be too careful when getting things from people, because there are some sick people out there.
Anyway, I remember all the different types of candy I had. I could not stand those peppermint patties, nor the butterscotches in my bag. I would discard of them, but the worst was when my parents would not let me have any freedom with the candy that was high in sugar like the snickers or nerds. They would would monitor my intake of those candies, because they knew I would over indulge myself. They were only trying to prevent me from making an early trip to the dentist.

I agree! This is possibly my favorite time of the year. If I could live somewhere where it was like this year round, I would do it in a heartbeat!
ReplyDeletei agree too. make sure that you eat enough of candy for me. we have an hallow eves at our church for all the kids to go trick or treating so the enviroment is safe. have a great Halloween.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger I was a paperboy, so I would make sure I stop by my customers around the day before Halloween to check on my payments. I also would find out who had the good candy. The elderly folks would also give me a sample of what they are giving away.
ReplyDeleteI love Halloween. But I don't always have trick or treaters, so sometimes I end up with leftover candy I don't need to eat!
